Dyceast
Where do you think the cheapest place it to buy supplents where erver you are? Well really im after protein.Im gettin sick of paying 80+ for a 2 litre protein that lasts me about a month or 2. And really I dont think I afford it all the time.Is there any places that you think is good for money to get protein concentrate. (Isolates is just way to dare for me)Im thinking of that Davis trading but dont know if it is any good?Anyone?
Wynton
Protein is going to be pretty much the same price everywhere give or take a few dollars.$80 for 1 or 2 month supply is not bad imo. You can buy some for cheaper but you will just be getting a smaller container. What are you currently using.I think someone on here mentioned unflavoured whey from fonterra? Do a search for it. Marcus
I buy Whey Protein Isolate from Davis Trading. The last 20kg sack I bought cost me $490.00 including gst & freight. The concentrate is obviously cheaper. You will save in the long run if you can handle the unflavoured stuff. I don't think it tastes bad. Dyceast
I actually gave Fonterra a call today.Aparently they only do exports, and dont sell it to private users etc. Also gave Davis Tradings a call and he is busy until monday  I ran out of protein yesterday. And its like a hunger. Im using that EAS whey protein because it was on special where I was for like 80bux for 2kg and a box of protein bars. So I bought 2.That special has now finished. So i have to look for alternatives.Have any of you tried the Davis Tradings conentrate?Iam really thinking of gettin that, but dont know if the quality is good. And also what is the taste like Marcus. Is it vanilla or something?Do they do smaller deals for like 10kgs?
Ash
Have any of you tried the Davis Tradings conentrate?Iam really thinking of gettin that, but dont know if the quality is good. And also what is the taste like Marcus. Is it vanilla or something?Do they do smaller deals for like 10kgs?The WPC doesn't taste like anything really - which I find great because I can mix it with pretty much anything I like and get a tasty shake or I can just have it with water and it still tastes OK. It dissolves instantly BTW.They only sell the 20kg bags.I'm on my 3rd bag, so you can tell I like it a lot :wink:The obvious disadvantage is that if you really hate the taste or get food intolerance problems from it, you've got a stack of protein you can't use. Marcus
Yeah the isolate tastes pretty much the same - like nothing. No after taste or anything. Mixes good. I buy the isolate because I'm still buying it cheaper that what I used to pay for flavoured WPC from the supplement stores.

musclearmor
I work for EAS so I know how much it costs to make a decent, true to label protein powder concentrate. You should expect to pay approx $80-$100 for a 5LB or 2.2kg tub of 100% Whey- predominantly of the concentrate variety, which is perfectly good, if it is legitimate. I personally believe when you weigh up the cost/benefit equation of predominantly Whey Concentrate versus Whey Isolate, Whey concentrate wins hands down. Overall, Whey powder is a very cost effective method to increase your protein intake versus chicken, eggs, beef etc, at around $1.20 per serve, however it is far from a full meal replacement. Protein powders have very little carb, good fat or vitamin or mineral content. You defintely need to ensure you still are eating from good quality whole food sources of protein, but Whey powder can certainly help post workout, breakfast time when you've been fastening in your sleep for 6-9 hours, or in addition to other foods to top up the protein levels for that meal. waldo
The EAS 100% Whey is about the only one I know mixes well, contains what it says it does and is good value. That's a pretty big call there musclearmor. I could line up 20 different powders that stack up pretty well in your criteria.
musclearmor
Just edited my original post as it had too much irrelevant stuff in it. Now it reflects the basics...
waldo
musclearmor, do you guys actually make that protein here, or is it sent from the states?
