Pseudonym
I saw CAPO Australia put out these benchmark tables the other day. So I thought I'd post them here to get people's opinion on them. The tables seem like a good idea to me, but they haven't included any novice classes (or I'm not reading them correctly) - and surely these would be the people who would most benefit from seeing the tables? Are these numbers comparable with NZ lifts? M.T
teamfatboy
Hmmm - probably the closest thing for the New Zealand Powerlifting Federation is the NZPF Qualifying Standards. So, for an open-class female competitor (between 24-40), the un-equipped standard is "Black" to go to Nationals. If that competitor is in the U72kg class, using the table on Page 4, she needs a total of 255kg in the three lifts. This can be made up any old how... so a 70kg female lifter could squat 100, dead 120 and bench 35 and qualify. Pseu, there are no "novice classes" in NZPF - but also, even if a lifter doesn't hit the qualifying total, a regional association can choose to include them in their team to Nationals. Realtalk
I will be entering all the female lifts done on the GPC facebook page today/tonight. When they are done I will post the link in here. That will be exactly what you are asking for. The male numbers are already done. teamfatboy and M.T

FellowshipOfTheRon
what about this? http://www.exrx.net/Testing/WeightLifting/StrengthStandards.html Pseudonym
Realtalk
Yeah those tables are fine. All they do though is give you a title/label there is no direct comparasion to relevant competition. So, people can now look at the gpc nz rankings and see that they can be competitive. The table like you guys posted don't tell me anything apart from that I might be novice according to it but it gives me no idea of how I might do in a meet apart from my own total.
