trainlikeafreak
Sorry to clog the feeds with my photos but scrolling through my photos and found these.. I've been involved in bodybuilding for 5 years now and one thing that gets clearer and clearer to me is size does not mean anything if you can't brig condition. 4 weeks out 2013 I was big, 104kg. I am currently mid 90s and 23 days out. But which pic looks bigger?? I don't know what pic I have more muscle in, probably the first especially in the legs but it's all about the illusion. My goal was to beat my last package without any performance enhancers and I acheived that many weeks ago. I will be competing in the juniors at the nzifbb pro am for those interested. bambam
A lesson many could learn, the numbers game in terms of weight seems silly. You either look good or you don't... ain't no body walking on stage with their weight and BF% written on their forehead. Looking awesome man
Realtalk
Looking sick bro, you should do really well and will do even better if friends with moe lol jk. But brotha man keep natty talk and self promotion with selfies to social media ok we don't suck dick on here... You know this man. Contribute to nutrition section or something share your expertise as obv know what you're doing, I would enjoy reading some your posts on nutrition with what you have been doing. not just come post pics to feed ego then disappear. No offence just my view. train hard
Pseudonym
Sorry to clog the feeds with my photos but scrolling through my photos and found these.. I've been involved in bodybuilding for 5 years now and one thing that gets clearer and clearer to me is size does not mean anything if you can't brig condition. It's a good comparison you've posted - very interesting seeing the two pics side by side. In these photos the extra conditioning certainly makes you look bigger in the 2015 shot than the 2013. But on stage, it doesn't always seem to work like that. When two guys are standing side by side on stage, and one is bigger and softer, quite often it seems like the bigger guy wins... because he's bigger. What do you reckon?  without any performance enhancers keep natty talk and self promotion with selfies to social mediaYeah, I dunno... I think the progress shots are good (I did consider merging them all into one topic, but this topic seemed it could be like an interesting discussion in its own right) I was going to ask some questions around the natty status (genuinely curious as to if/when you stopped, and how much you attribute your current size to previous PED use), but I don't want to start a shitfight when people do/don't believe you. So up to you whether you answer that one, TLAF!

What do you reckon?   This almost NEVER happens.  Conditioning is pretty much always valued over size in any federation (although you could argue NZIFBB is more obsessed with condition than the other feds) unless there is a much bigger gap in size than there is in condition. Pseudonym
Do you think so? Admittedly I can't give any specific instances off the top of my head, but it feels like I've had lots of coversations with people at a show where the bigger guys has won. But maybe that's just what sticks in my memory because it was unexpected.
trainlikeafreak
I agree with sounds good.. Look at nationals.. Mateo beat a much bigger garth. In 2013 I lost to a guy 20k lighter than me. Imo conditioning definately wins shows and I think it should because a shredded bodybuilder is much more impressive than a big soft bodybuilder

You don't have to be a bodybuilding guru to realise. mateo shouldn't even be the current mr nz. We have pros that are nothing more and never going to be anything more than above average amateurs and they just sit in the crowd. So what is the point of typing the above? Well in reply to your post that Steve will wipe the floor of everyone that is obvious because all he is competing against is losers, people who have lost year after year who haven't gotten a pro card. Salah, grant, the omalleys etc etc they should all still be amateurs and competing and doing well on an amatuer level and making for good competition (no disrespect) but have a look at European amatuer shows or npc shows the amateurs are crazy. One word - DILUTED.Didn't mean to derail thread sorry. FUBU
How do you get that dry look. Do you have to dehydrate. Is it possible to do it without dehydrating?

Is it possible to do it without dehydrating?if you wanna look dry you gotta be peeled. Personally I think water manipulation at the end exaggerates the effect although I know some guys who don't bother they just get shredded and compete. I will be dehydrating. soundsgood
Probably fair to say non PED using competitors don't need to worry with 'drying out' as much as PED using competitors as the introduction of artificial Testosterone based products causes a lot of water retention. ngapuhi strong

Just my view on why the biggest people are never leanest. And actually the more muscle you hold the leaner you look.Pretty no scientific post but think it had some truth to it. I went weeks and weeks without any re feeds and have only introduced them recently since I'm quite lean. They serve a purpose in the sense that they fill me up and in my opinion are helping keep the muscle on. Being too flat for too long is gonna melt muscle imo especially if your not usi steroids. Obviously mentally they are great but at the same time I could go without them and still finish the prep. FUBU
