There's over $1,000 worth of prizes up for grabs here. The guy and girl to bench the most reps each win a 3kg tub of Horleys protein of their choice and a Gymnation shirt. Plus we're giving away boxes of Horleys Protein 33 bars as spot prizes!

All you need to do is bench as many reps as you can with your bodyweight - to the nearest 2.5kg. Easy!

Here's how it works...

Video yourself on the scales (show that they're set to zero first), then say "Gymnation bodyweight bench comp 2015", and your Gymnation username.

You may have a spotter help with liftoff. After that, if your spotter touches the bar, the rep doesn't count. To the chest, touch and go, no blatant bouncing (a little momentum is fine).

Post your video in this topic. Competition closes on March 8th, and is subject to the usual terms and conditions. If we end up with a tie (ie, multiple people get the same number of reps), we'll extend the competition by 24 hours until we have a winner.

We're giving away a couple of boxes of Horleys Protein 33 bars each week as spot prizes, so the sooner you get an entry in the better.

Good luck!

If the exercise were Deadlifts this would be so much more fun! It would add an endurance factor which would be interesting.

How would it be more fun? It would be fucking stupid and intredasting coz no one would do it. You too weak to bench your bodyweight for reps or something br0?

LOL - this isn't the only challenge we're ever going to run, guys. We can do bodyweight squats and deads in another challenge! :D

Inb4 fuck all females enter coz most cant even do 1 rep bw. Not saying you should change it..just is ridiculous how weak females are

Uh oh, looks like Grumpy Hugh is back. I reckon there'll be a few powerlifting girls who'll be keen to prove you wrong, bro!

This is awesome! Great prizes

I'm going to assume you actually are expecting a serious response to that.

In my opinion it would be more fun because more people would participate because more people can Deadlift their body weight than bench which means it would be more competitive therefor more fun. lol

Too weak to bench my body weight for reps? right now? yes.

Yeah whatever mate...most males who actually lift for at least 3 months or so can do at least 10 reps of their bodyweight. id assume winner of this will get 30 something-40 something reps so dunno what you whining about. I dont see a bodyweight deadlift comp for max reps being popular. Ive never even done a bodyweight deadlift or deadlift less than 1.5xbw in training. Imo best comps are ones that use excercises and rep ranges/weights that people actually do in their training. I could be wrong..maybe itd be popular but I doubt it

Not upset br0. Just disagreed with you over something minor online. No big deal at all and I didnt take anything you said personally or anything and neither should you. Keep up the training and youll get stronger.

I don't need your luck im not doing this comp as im not strong enough to win it and not wrecking a training session maxing out on such low weight as I train not as much as I should as it is so those sessions gotta count. Luck wont help me anyway, its not roulette.
