    Agree with dropping the glutamine...no real evidence that it improves recovery. Best supps to get are: Whey Creatine Mono Multi Fish Oil Pre Workout
  5. Has anyone used either of the above to 'bulk' up their shakes and get some more carbs/cals in? I have been doing the oats thing for a while but my blender doesn't do the greatest job and thought R Bubbles or C Flakes would mix/blend easier. Both have about 80g of CHO per 100g and about 2-8g of sugar. Thoughts??

    US tablespoon: 1 tablespoon of water weighs 14.79 grams 1 tablespoon of table salt weighs 18.25 grams 1 tablespoon of butter weighs 14.19 grams 1 tablespoon of oil (canola or soy) weighs 13.62 grams 1 tablespoon of sugar (granulated) weighs 12.5 grams 1 tablespoon of sugar (brown) weighs 13.8 grams (packed) Going off this I'd say 2 tablespoons will be about 30g.

  8. Mutant Whey

    The Mutant Whey amino acid profile is based on "Per Serving when used as suggested" They suggest to use 2 x 36g scoops as serve - in other words you have to halve the figures to get what is in one 36g scoop. This means there is only 1.3g of isoleucine in each 36g scoop. Whereas the Balance has 1.6g of isoleucine in only a 30g scoop, or 1.9g per 36g if you wanted to compare it to a Mutant Whey scoop.

    Agreed, people need to start reading nutrition labels as opposed to what is written across the front. The front might say 50g of protein per serve, but the serve could be like 80g and you only get half a dozen in the tub.

    Totally agree, the media loves this kind of stuff. They see a BB'er giving someone something before they train and immediately plant the seed that this was what caused it. It is just like the whole DMAA thing earlier in the year.

    I think Horleys, TnT and Balance are NZ made, correct me if im wrong however. Just become a label reader as opposed to paying attention to marketing like you are doing. What products are you looking into...protein, creatine, preworkout?
