Pull: Conventional softsuit, today like last week was tough just pulled 150 been hitting 170s as I knew 170 was going to be a grind. Notes: End of the fourteenth week and I very glad that I am heading down south for 4 days. Gives me a real good deload week as I was pretty strong 2 weeks ago. I was aiming for certain numbers on my 65th birthday, not going to happen. A couple of things that I did not take into consideration which is possibly a really good thing. (i) I peaked 2 weeks ago (ii) 14 weeks is a bit too long without a decent deload (iii) I am not conditioned enough for this length of cycle (iv) I was focused on a result and a date did not think the process out thoroughly. Squats were a bit off today speed at 160kgs very low 0.5s so went to 170 which was bang on and felt better. Did a drop of 5kgs should have been slower than I would have wanted but that is ok. Press: Comp Bench SlingShot 2XL and Overload. Like the Squats felt good on the warm ups did a top @ a 100. Last week got 4 reps same as this week. So did 2 drop sets one at 97.5kgs and another at 95kgs. In hindsight should have done another set at 97.5 as the 95 was bit faster. Pull: Sumo Deadlift straps up, belt position right. Same weight as last week and speed was up down on last week. May have been Mondays session or I was just not applying myself I think the latter. Average this week was 0.386 last week was 0.40 Notes: Indifferent week this week 2 main days have been a bit slower than expected, still working on a few cues for the next few weeks. Squat setup is just feeling off so will video and see what is going on. Bench first week of a lower speeds and a bit more volume. Deads were ok just not enough pressure. Press: Comp Bench Overload XL. After the debacle with the SK last week decided that I needed to increase my work on the bench. So did 3 sets at a 100kgs will move these back to triples. Bench has taken a while to get anywhere near my previous numbers. Pull: Sumo Deadlift C46, after last week today went surprisingly well pulled 180 for a double been a long time since I have done anything near this. Did a drop set at 170 this was tough but good. Notes: Start of Block 4 week 2, doubles again, a better day than last week so will stick at these weights till my speed picks up. Deads went pretty well today about time me thinks. Going to put a bit more volume and a bit more intensity into the top sets. Pull: Sumo Deadlift straps up, belt position right. Same weight as last week and speed was up non last week. Getting back up where it should be. Average this week was 0.4 last week was 0.415 Notes: Indifferent week this week 2 main days have been a bit slower than expected, will work on a few cues for the next few weeks. Squat setup is just feeling off so will video and see what is going on, Bench needs a lower speed so more weight I need to start grinding so to speak. Daeds are ok just the effects of the 2 above. Notes: Start of Block 4 week 1, and doubles, the plan was for a good strong day but the Tendo proved other wise. Speed was slow weights felt heavy just not on for today.   8. Gazza have been working with Tendo Units last 18 months or so, 0.4m/s is . 4 meters per second that is the bar speed that I am looking for. On a % based programme you would do for a speed day from 70-80% over a 4 week period there is NO room for movement just what is prescribed on % based programmes. With Velocity Based Training the bar speed if it is faster then I would go up in weight if slower the I would not go up sort of auto regulation. The faster you can move the weight the stronger you are getting..

  12. Battle ropes done properly are a big help to the shoulder girdle the amount of benching some of our lifters do Battle Ropes are a good active rehab. Trade me if possible or a ship Chandler or Provedor if purchased at the right price they are ok but with the fad of XFit popularizing battle ropes the price has sky rocketed. Cheers
