samuelNZ
Hello, not a large forum poster at all but in need of some help My girlfriend of 2 years is very interested in starting weight training properly on a decent program and wants me to help/teach her technique and create a program for her. I have a pretty decent background in lifting but am really struggling with where to start for her.. I have experience with mainstream bodybuilding splits, German Volume training and are currently on a 5/3/1 phase which I have been on for around 6 months and making great gains, but none of these seem even slightly suitable for a 19 year old female starting training! Her main goals are functional strength and mobility/joint/overall health.Anyone willing to give advice on what basic program to start her on and any other tips? What did some of the females on here start out training with? Thanks
mike27
hijust start her off with the basics3 day full body each da mon,wed,frior3 day split mon, wed, frichest, backlegs, shouldersarms, coreand maybe throw in a little cardio 2-3 times a week3 sets of 10 on the big lifts, then 1-2 isolation exercises and done! keep it simple to start with. 3 months of that will yield great resultsin conjuction with a good diet also tho as you know! rest+sleep+eat! Yenegh
Congrats on having a girlfriend that will join you in weight lifting....This is the best book for women so far and would make an awesome book for your girlfriend if she is interested in starting to lift. It helps me a lot as a reference guide and explains muscles for women in detail... http://www.amazon.com/New-Rules-Lifting ... 573&sr=8-
