Beef
Quinoa Cooking Directions: 1. Soak the quinoa for 15 min in the cooking pot. Soaking helps quinoa to cook evenly, and loosens up the outer coating of saponin, which can give a bitter taste if not removed 2. If you don't have time for a longer soaking, use hot water and soak for five minutes 3. To Rinse: Stir the quinoa with your hand, and carefully pour off the rinsing water, using a fine mesh strainer at the last 4. Drain quinoa well in the strainer, transfer to the cooking pot, add 1 1/2 cups water & 1/2 tsp salt if desired 5. Bring to a boil, cover with a tight fitting lid, and turn the heat down to simmer 6. Cook for 15 minutes 7. Remove quinoa from heat and allow to sit five minutes with the lid on 8. Fluff quinoa gently with a fork and serve 9. Quinoa is delicious by itself or with any of the recipes listed above

Maximus
Rinse it to get some of the stones out and then boil it for about 10-15 minutes or until it is cooked. If you make sushi then this is a great swap from rice. Either that or drop it in a salad with chick peas, fennel and balsamic.Done !!
Sportsgirl
I usually soak it for a bit longer before cooking - at least an hour, then rinse really well before cooking. I've made a nice breakfast with it:Sprouted Quinoa with Cinnamon Apples and Coconut2 cups whole quinoa (soaked for at least a couple hours then well rinsed - this helps remove the bitter coating and any grit)4 cups of waterpinch of salt2 diced applespinch of cardamompinch of freshly grated nutmeg1/2 t cinnamon1 cup of coconut milk1 t vanilla extractBring water to a boil. Add all ingredients except for the coconut milk and vanilla. Cook on medium for approx 20 minutes or until all the water is absorbed and quinoa is tender. Remove from heat. Add coconut milk and vanilla. Has higher protein than other grains, about 9g per 100g I think.
