Nich
Hi allMy right shoulder has been dickie for years (broke my collar bone 30 odd years ago), this became more apparent when I started using weights and in particular shoulder presses and incline bench presses. So I have been shying away from these exercises. My focus for shoulders has been upright rows, rear laterals, side laterals. For chest I have been doing flat bench and decline presses as my core training all with dumbells.Im happy with my progress using these exercises and Im able to do reasonable weights so Im continually adding weight for growth.Does anyone else have a similar shoulder problem? Growth
Ive got a cronic nagging left shoulder, its aggrevated by doing flat benching so i dont really do that exercises anymore. I started doing RC exercises and DC shoulder stretches, really worked wonders, i dont have the pain anymore but im not going back to flat bench incase it flares up again. Ash
That link might just change your life if you've got a dodgy shoulder. The DC broomstick stretches fixed my RC problems in a few weeks, which is impressive considering they had been bugging me for a decade or more.(As Growth said, giving up nasty old flat BB bench press didn't hurt either)
Marcus
This stretch has worked wonders for me also. Like the others say, if you have a dodgy shoulder you should consider giving up flat bench BB presses.
Nich
I dont have a problem doing flat bench press only incline. Its interesting to hear that others are different. Im keen to try anything to get me doing shoulder presses again.
Nich
Thanks Marcus I checked out DC's site, I did a few of those exercises I could feel a difference. My goodness now I know why I have problems holding the bar during squats my range of motion is zilch.Im going to be doing those daily.
Marcus
It's quite an effective exercise, yet so simple. I was surprised at my range of motion as well when I first started. I used to do a set of 50 after each cardio session, & would try to bring my hands closer together on the broom or whatever each time. My shoulder came right after afew weeks & I haven't had any problems since. However it's probably an exercise which could be beneficial by doing it all the time. I'm just too lazy I guess.
