Cardio / Triathlon

Hey everyone.

I am new to structured training and was looking for some good start up advice. Although for the last 4/5 years I have been involved mainly in general runs and cycles just for fun so I have a fairly decent fitness level but no way near what I would like. So just a few questions.

> would 5 days per week cardio be too much training?

> would 2 runs, 2 bikes and 1 swim be alright per week?

> how long should these last for each session?

> what intensity should I go at in these sessions?

> do I need to do any weights sessions? would they be beneficial if I did?

My main goals are to compete in 1/2 marathons and mini triathlons.
