Disco
Hi there, been lurking forums for a while now, just making a topic talking about the PT courses in the Christchurch area, i've seen similar posts but a few of them are a bit dated now, so i'd like to get a few people's thoughts on possible study to being a PT. A few that have been mentioned. http://maxfitnesscollege.com/ http://www.openpolytechnic.ac.nz/ http://www.nzihf.co.nz/ http://www.ara.ac.nz/
BeastBuilder
CPIT do a 6 month course with a July intake you could potentially make this year if you wanted to do it asap. Otherwise I studied through SIT, they have a classroom at Pioneer Fitness Centre instead of at their campus in Hornby. You get use of the gym etc, it's a year long course basically March-November if I remember right. Zero tuition fees so you just pay your course costs and books which is around $1k. Solid course and would definitely recommend it over any of the online courses or short ass 8 week courses where they just want your money and you won't learn f*ck all. Pseudonym
Welcome, Disco. Do you have any ideas as to what type of PT work you'd like to be doing after the course?
Disco
Thanks for the recommendation, had not looked into SIT before, had only heard mentions of them, the course content looks solid, thanks - will keep them in mind, as for the type of PT trainer, i'd like to work with clients/help make programs, the very generic route, possibly look at school teaching later in life. Bruce Al
A mate of mine kills it running bootcamps ....so he says. Being a P.E teacher would be pretty sweet. Can see all the upcoming talent and use it to your advantage.
