Meat codes

Those of you who work/worked in supermarkets, answer me this:

On the supermarket meat packs of steak, chook tits, etc, I notice they've started adding codes. So the label on a pack of steak now reads "RUMP STEAK - T1107", or something like that. But right beside it is an identical looking steak called "RUMP STEAK - T1005". So what's the difference? Is it fresh/frozen, or NZ/Aussie?

I presume this code represents some useful piece of information. But what?
