DrDarkMatter
I was doing deadlifts tonight because today is back day. I was straining quite hard near the end of my last heaviest set before I started to go back down again, and I got a headache. right at the temples, I am sure it was from the strain of the lifts, it was not debilitating or anything and now that I have rested for a while and had a shower it mostly gone, but I do still feel a bit of pressure there. anyone else get this? OnlyHuman
Would you be able to describe the location/distribution of the head ache? Eg: One side only, where is it localized (if it is) , how far it spreads out etc... ?
DrDarkMatter
just temples. thats it.... right by those bones above your eyes and just to the side of your head, it could be from me clenching my teeth while lifting come to thing of it too. not sure honestly. DrDarkMatter
ok after a few days of working out and being conscience of this, it appears to be me gritting my teeth and those temple muscles getting a work out as well. I am going to have to be careful about this I can see...
I Declare War
I get headaches like that when my blood pressure is up. Deads can definitely shoot your BP right up, but it should come back down pretty quick, pretty much right after the lift.Maybe get a doc to check you over? Better safe than sorry... I put it down to straining so hard with high reps and because it's a big movement.

DrDarkMatter
must be the strain, I remember seeing a video of Kai Green after he had done squats, far out man it looked like he had Ebola...speaking of which today is leg day for me, I both look forward to it and dread it at the same time....
AgentOrange
Squats and leg press always give me massive headaches... They generally subside on my way home.

flexraid
holding your breath while your straining to get that last squat/deadlift/bench rep? You are going to have a bad time

DrDarkMatter
I am finding I am gritting my teeth a lot, this is causing my muscles in my temples to ache and be sore. I now have to conscientiously try to NOT clench my teeth.
