Inguinal Hernia

So I think I've got one of these. Scan hasn't picked it up, but go back to the doc on Monday and am guessing I'm going to get referred to a specialist and cut open. Anybody had one of these before? How long did you wait to go under the knife and have you been able to go back to lifting heavy again without any issues? I'm not a very happy boy. Feels like I've been kicked in the nuts off and on all day.

I had one too. Had laproscopic surgery No heavy lifting for 6 weeks (did press ups/pull ups about 5 weeks no discomfort at all)

Day after surgery could walk okay just took very easy for couple of weeks.

Had medical insurance got mine done quite quickly. If in pain keep harassing doc/specialist may get prioritised. Feeling of been kicked in nuts is not nice would keep at them I know the pain

had three of the buggers in my early 20's. they ended up putting in a porcine mesh to help strengthen the stomach wall - also so it could still tear but the intestines wouldn't pop out. luckily haven't had an issue since.. .

had surgery on the NHS in the UK so was waiting 9 months each time - some days couldn't walk without hunching over - they can sting pretty bad.. .

just watch out for the strangulated version - you can die from those (srs)

Had an ultrasound and they found a hernia above my belly button a year ago. Had an MRI a couple of months later after taking it easy and it was gone. Pretty sure it just healed up but I can still feel a bit of pain there every now and then during heavy lifts. Today doing tricep pushdowns with 63kg I could feel pain where the hernia used to be, hopefully I don't tear it open.
