Post Pregnancy ABS? advice on how you got your abs back

Recommended Posts

It took me quite awhile to get mine back .. as they say abs are built in the kitchen not the gym.

So it took a good year to drop the fat .. then I worked on filling out my abs to fill the skin that was lose on me.

My youngest is now 18 months and they look much better than they did after 12 months ... so it just takes time :)

I think the following questions need to be looked at:

Did you have abs pre-baby?

How much weight did you gain during pregnacy?

Was your baby in the 'normal' postition?

Did you have a natural birth or c-section?

Are you breastfeeding?

If you didnt have abs before, Id say you have lot of work ahead of you. If bub was in the wrong position, your abs could have separated a lot more than 'normal' so again, work required!

If you had a c-section, small tightening moves help to realign muscle fibers together.

If you are breastfeeding, you may find it harder as you'll be taking in extra cals to feed bub.

Its hard work but acheivable. I was back on stage when Lucy was 5 months old. I was getting up at 4.45 for cardio, followed a strict food plan and got mine back pronto.

Thanks Sheta, had abs prior to baby and quite fit and healthy, decided not to weigh myself while pregnant as I didnt want that to play around in my head if you know what I mean but I went from a lose size 12 to lose size 14 full term pregnancy... and everything went perfectly well during pregnancy and birth, normal position and real easy labour and natural birth (4 hours start to finish) breastfed until around 3 weeks ago...

thats amazing commitment for a 4.45am cardio session so early...

I know i have a lot of hardwork ahead of me but I am committed (not sure about 4.45am though lo)l... but committed in my own way...

working hard 2 sessions a day 6 times a week, 930 fitness class and 130 fitness plan given to me by the gym PT...

Thanks for sharing your story :D

Hello. If you're having problems during pregnancy then you should watch The WOMB Vaughan because there are many specialists who help women during pregnancy. When I was pregnant with my first child, I had many questions and only here I found qualified help and support! Where do you get checkups during pregnancy?

The world of wine can be overwhelming. For that very reason, we came up with a monthly wine subscription.

You love wine. You're always looking for new and exciting wines to try. You can't even keep up with all the new releases, let alone buy them all.
