HarryB
To each their own!!! Lot's of guys are grunters. I am quiet when I train but my younger brothers grunts and psychs himself up before he squats and he's a 250+k squatter with no belt and no wraps. Look at Ronnie Coleman and how he carries on before he does each set. Who's kicking him out? lol
samoan_muscle
I'm all good with grunters who grunt cos they lifting some heavy ass weights. But those wannabes who are grunting on their 30-40kg dumbell presses f*ck me off to another level.
HarryB
But isn't heavy relative? I mean I might think someone grunting to squat 220 is ridiculous but hell it might be as heavy as they can go! Cmon Uce, you know some people need to use some volume to make that weight move, no matter how light it seems to you! lol
Shutupandsquat
I find myself just making the noise without even trying. It just comes out. I'll make noise to psych myself up. Like Harry said though, it could be light for someone else, but it could be heavy for that person. (Although it's a bit ridiculous when people do it on quarter squats). lemon
I would usually, like the guy in the video said he did, do a short, loudish breathing noise. But I won't do this from rep 1. Usually the last few reps - maybe.Unless I'm bicep curling those 8kgs I'm screaming like a siren.
